The GlassHouse,
Terrace Gardens Richmond
An existence of
a glasshouse on this site dates back to 1771. During the years the glasshouse
has had periods where it has been well cared for and times when it has
also fallen into neglect. In 2007 it was restored and is an attractive
feature of The Terrace Gardens in Richmond. Plants in the glasshouse
have been donated by The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and Hampton Court.
The plants within the glasshouse are from warmer climates, that seem
to enjoy the south facing aspect of the glasshouse. In
its present state the glasshouse allows the visitor a momentary escape
to a more warmer clime.
